John D. Haas

John D. Haas, 74, of Oley, passed away Friday February 10, 2023 at the Reading Hospital.  He was the owner of John Haas Seafood and Oley Valley Auction Company. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Eli C. Haas and Mary E. (Hafer) Haas. John enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and watching NASCAR. He worked as an auctioneer, barber, and fish monger. He also enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  John wanted to be remembered as a fighter, a believer in God, and a loving and caring son, brother, father, and grandfather.  Surviving are his girlfriend Sonja Degler; children John S. Haas husband of Carol, Dr. Marcy A. Haas wife of Phil Quezada, and Mandy S. Jancovic wife of Thomas; grandchildren Kayla, Austin, Alexandra, Misha wife of Brett, Brian, and Eli; great grandchildren Ethan and Joshua; brother Charles W. Haas; and furry daughter Ginger. A memorial service will be held Saturday March 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Fleetwood Bible Church, 2847 Moselem Spring Rd., Fleetwood, PA 19522. Interment will be private.
