Sheila M. Shaughnessy

1963 - 2023

Sheila M. Shaughnessy, 59, beloved daughter, sister, and aunt died February 2nd at home in Chicago. She was born on May 17, 1963 to the late Joseph M. and Maureen M. Shaughnessy, (nee Scanlon). Sheila graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1985 and Adelphi University Graduate School in 1989. She then began a long and successful career in healthcare management as Director of Cardiology Services at Catholic Health Partners, Director of Surgical Services and Director of Heart & Vascular Services at Resurrection Health Care, plus Director of Heart & Vascular Services at Presence Health She enjoyed cooking, reading, and traveling the globe. Sheila will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and undying love for her family and friends. She was the cherished sister of Matthew, the late Colleen (James) Nelson, and Michael (Clare) of New Canaan, CT. Adored aunt of Colette and Liam Nelson, and Katharine "Kate" Shaughnessy. Beloved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Visitation, Saturday, March 4th, 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Cajetan Church, 112th St. and Artesian Ave., Chicago. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
