Deanna Dawn Caulfield, nee Gonder, 87, of Evanston, Illinois, passed away on Jan. 31, 2026, after a long and beautiful life filled with friends and family. She was surrounded by loved ones and wonderful caretakers her final days.
Born Feb. 25, 1938, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Edna and Ford Gonder. Beloved wife of the late Edmund Joseph for more than 60 years; adored mother of Elizabeth Caulfield, Dawn (Robert) Dooley and Cathleen (Benjamin) Dooley; cherished grandmother of Sarah, Meghan and Jack Caulfield, Claire (Sean) Cahill, Grace (Anders) Lee, Robert, Anne (Zach) Budish, Edmund and Mary Dooley, and John Clair, Maeve and Eileen Dooley; doting great grandmother of Emmett and Jamie Cahill, Ruby, Josephine and August Lee, and Margot Budish; loving sister of the late Wayne Gonder; sister-in-law to Mary (Caulfield) and Gordon Wilson. Friend to many in the Long Beach Garden Club, the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Long Beach Community, especially her neighbors at Stop 16. Former longtime member of St. Jerome Parish in Rogers Park, and Notre Dame Parish in Long Beach.
She was a scholarship pianist at the Sherwood Music School of Chicago, and an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and the University of Notre Dame. She was also a 20 year employee of Loyola University.

A Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, held from 9 a.m. until time of Mass, 10 a.m., at St. Joan of Arc, 3653 Lyons St., Evanston. Interment will be private.

I was a PEO Sister of Dee. She was a great person to be around and we had many good times together. She was really missed when she moved ro Chicago.

Dear Dooley and Caulfield Families,
You all remain in our deepest prayers at the loss of your most wonderful Mom, Dee! She was one of our most favorite Clients, and we looked forward to every visit! Her beautiful smile lit up the room and her kindness was such a blessing! Dee was so very proud of her family and we could not wait to see new photos and hear about exciting updates! She will be truly missed by all of us!
