DELPHOS — Marion E. 'Bud' Buckles age 89, currently of Otterbein-Cridersville and originally from Delphos and late in the Lima area is looking down at us from heaven. Bud entered our world July 4, 1929, born to the late Charles and Breta Buckles.
After graduating from Delphos Jefferson High School Bud attended Baldwin-Wallace College until being drafted by the armed forces. Bud served in the Army and won numerous awards for his vocal excellence while stationed abroad. After his honorable discharge, Bud entered and graduated from Bowling Green State University and began his lifelong vocation as a full-time elementary school teacher. Bud had the patience of 'Job' and compassion for humanity. Bud spent the past 6 years at Otterbein- Cridersville with his courageous stamina.
Bud is survived by his wife Margaret, a stepson Michael Layman and his wife Teresa Layman and an additional stepdaughter. Bud is also survived by his sister Marie McFearin and husband Richard 'Mac' McFearin, his brother Don Buckles and wife Sharon Buckles as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Bud's request he has been cremated. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Otterbein-Cridersville with Rev. Jonathon Spyker officiating. Interment will be private at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos, Ohio. The family will receive friends at 2 until the time of the service.
