James Miller

1937 - 2025

James Miller went to be with his beloved wife on June 23rd 2025. James was born Aug.14th 1937 in Inglewood,Ca and raised in Westchester, Ca. After graduating from high school Jim went on to attend Fresno State University where he graduated with a BA in Animal Husbandry. After College Jim joined the Air-force and served 4 years in Biloxi Mississippi at Kessler Air-force Base. While in the service he met, married and brought his wife out to Mississippi from Los Angeles. While there they welcomed their first child, Deborah into their family. After his service ended in 1964 they moved to Stockton, Ca where Jim went to work for the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. While in Stockton, they added their sons Patrick and Charles into their family.
After working for 32 Years Jim retired and the adventures started for him and Joanne. They followed their dream of living in the country and moved to Lodi Ca. They spent many weeks a year camping with their longtime friends Elmo and Jenetta Hutchinson.
Jim became a very active member of the Stockton Elks lodge where he cooked for many events, volunteered as Santa Clause for many years and also worked his way up thru the chairs to become exalted ruler from 2004-2005. Along with playing Santa at the Elks, Jim was Santa for years in Fair Oaks, Ca at the Christmas In The Village Parade. After his wife of 62 years,6 months and 6 days passed away Jim found comfort in family gatherings at his house for parties, being taken to his favorite Indian Casinos, playing games of Mexican Train Dominoes competitively on a monthly basis with friends Doreen and Darllene, and having dinners on Wednesday's and Sunday's with his son Charles and son-n-Law William.
Jim is survived by his daughter Debora, son Patrick (wife Stacey) son Charles(husband William) grandchildren Elliott (fiancé Geneva) and Jeanne (longtime boyfriend Jessie).
His memorial will be held graveside August 16th 2025 at 10:30 at Cherokee Memorial in Lodi, Ca. Luncheon to follow.
