Jessica Marla Goldstein of Pomona passed away at home with her family by her side on February 7, 2012. She was 52. Jessica was born September 10, 1959 in Philadelphia, PA to Dr. Howard B. Goldstein and Eileen Bloomer Garrahan. She attended grade school and high school in New City, NY, received her BA from Washington University in St. Louis and her MFA in Acting from the University of Washington in Seattle. She was a teacher for the Bellevue School District in Bellevue WA, and most recently at The Thornton Donovan School in New Rochelle.

Jessica's passions were acting and teaching theatre to young people. After graduating from the UW, she taught acting to adults and children in Seattle, WA for many years. Jessica also directed Shakespeare productions in Patan, Nepal, and studied acting technique in Russia and Japan. She performed in film, television and onstage, and was a recipient of the PNW Regional Nell Shipman Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the indie film "Apart from That". Her influence as a teacher, the consistency of her love and the strength of her personality are reflected in the heartfelt tributes by her friends, students and colleagues from around the world. She is truly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Allen King of Pomona; her son Jonah Hudson King, age 5; her parents; sisters Melissa Goldstein and Rachel Goldstein and a brother Jacob Goldstein.

A Memorial Service for Jessica has been planned for Saturday, March 24th, 2012 at the Nyack Center. It would please and honor her to have memorial contributions made c/o the Rato Bangala School in Patan, Nepal, where she spent some of the most meaningful moments of her life. The family also heartily supports Blue Rock School in West Nyack, where her son attends Kindergarten.
