This is to Dave's family,
We have received word of Dave's passing and would like to express our sympathy to his wife, Linda, and family. I never had met Dave in person, but have enjoyed his input on the Forward Look mailing list and have sold him some parts in the past. My wife and I will pray for the family during this sad time in your lives.
May our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, for He is the only Comfort at this hour.

Dear Grove Family,
We are very sorry for your loss. We met Dave back in the early 1990's when the engine on our Caravan locked up. Someone referred us to Dave and he was our only mechanic after that. We use to joke about us paying for his kid's college or getting a frequent user discount because we saw him so much. He definintely was a GREAT MAN!! Our prayers are with you as your hearts heal.

We have all lost a truly swell guy, and my sympathy goes to the family. He will be missed by many more folks than any of us, much less he, could have imagined.
I had the pleasure of knowing Dave thru quite a few e-mails discussing AVS Carbs. Dave, from all reports, was an expert on them. In reading some of the tributes to him, it amazes me that he had time for anything else. he was never short in his answers and made generous offers to overhaul my carb. I put it off, but time is short as we see.
I wish I could have met him.

Though I met Dave only one time in person, I knew him well from the various Chrysler car club email groups and forums. Dave was an absolute whiz in everything automotive, and one of the friendliest people around.
He was a classy guy, I wish there were more like him in the world. Dave will be terribly missed around the Turbo Dodge community.
My deepest sympathies to the Grove family.

I was very saddened to hear of Dave's passing. He helped me many times with questions I had about my '59 Plymouth. I remember conversing with him on email one nite at 1 AM in morning about brake problems on my son's Dodge. He happened to be in the shop at that hour. My condolences to his family.

Dave was the oldest of six children, I am the youngest. With 12 years between Dave and myself I didn't get the same benifit of seeing Dave as the big brother that my older brothers and sisters did. My fondest memories of Dave growing up was the guy who came home to visit with the COOL cars. I remember riding with Dave once and getting to put a 45 in the record player that he had under the dash, I thought that was about the coolest thing anyone could have in a car. I remember Dave driving fast (don't tell his mother how fast he would drive with us kids in the car) I remember Dave always had model cars and trading cards with cars on them, not baseball or football cards but hot rods on them.
In reading some of these postings I am shocked at all of the people beyond Dave's immediate family that he touched. I always knew that Dave posessed tremedous knowledge about cars and of course mostly anything Chrysler related but I never pictured Dave taking the time to sit at a computer and help so many people with their car questions. Dave will certainly be missed by many people and I feel very previlaged to have been his brother.
I added an old photo to the photo album, sorry guys its not a Mopar product but at least it had a Big Block motor (I think anyway)

In 1970 I bought my Dodge Charger, and in her later years, neglected her. Then friends sent me to Dave who babied her, and fixed her up, turbo muffler and all. So now as I take her out on the road, as I promised I would, I will think of Dave smiling down and cheering us on. And, now that I know that he is watching, I will treat her right.
My sympathy and thoughts are with you all. May time bring you comfort and peace.

To the Grove Family.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences at the loss of such a great generous man. I knew Dave through mutual correspondence via the ForwardLook List. Even down here in New Zealand, at the bottom of the world, Dave was able to help me out with advise and steer me in the right direction, whenever I asked for help on a MoPar problem. Dave will be sadly missed by his family and friends throughout the world.
Sincerely,
Glenn Barratt,

Linda and family, my deepest and most sincere sympathy! Your loss is "all" of our loss as well! I truly believe that I am a much better person and very fortunate to have known Dave for the past 25 years. I look at things a lot like Dave did and appreciate the things I have and the things I am able to do in part because of Dave. I will forever miss him, a finer human being would be hard to find! My very best to you Linda and your family!

I talked to Dave so recently,,,he helped me with a slew of questions on my GOLDEN COMMANDO project. He even had some left over parts that he literally gave to me. We commented that we were both 'young at 57'. What a super guy!

I never met Dave Grove. I only corresponded with him via email, as fellow members of the Forward Look Network. But the advice he provided to me was invaluable, and I knew that if I ran into a snag, I could email Dave and he could point the way.
When my own father died (24 years ago, yesterday), we all dug out all the old film footage to catch a glimpse of him. Sadly, he was always on the "taking" side of the camera! And just now I've run through my old emails with Dave, to catch a "glimpse" of the man who had been so helpful to me, but that I never really knew. I wish I had... May the memories of him you collectively share, sustain you now in your loss.

To the Grove family,
I want to say thank you for allowing me to be with you during Dave's last hours. I learned so much about him during that time. He was truly a great man and He will be missed, but I realized what a witness he was even til the end. He didn't have to utter a word, but he still showed his strength and trust in God til the very end. That to me is truly a witness. I am proud to say I knew him and proud to know his wonderful family. God bless you all and may He strengthen you more and more each day. You are in my prayers, but I don't worry because now you have an angel named Dave watching over you.

To my dad: You were still working on cars a month ago, even mine. Thank you for always taking care of me and for being my personal ATM on occasion, no questions asked. We could do no wrong in your eyes and you were always there. I have comfort in knowing that I can converse with you anytime I want and you will hear me. I know you are still taking care of us now. Thank you for giving me your sense of humor, and for letting me play with your work shirt pocket while sitting on your lap as a child, you always had a tire guage in there with other cool toys. I miss you like crazy and You'll always have that special chunk of my heart. I love you so much. Thanks for being the best dad anybody could have...I have been so blessed.

Dave Grove was one of the greatest men in history in my book. I feel I should know because he was and always will be my daddy. My family and I miss him dearly, but are relieved to know that he is no longer ill and is with the Lord. We know for sure that God will never have trouble with his Dodge again now that my dad is there to take care of it and tell Him what He has been doing wrong for so many years. Bet you didn't know the Man upstairs drives a Dodge.:) My family and I feel him with us and know he is in a better place where we all long to be. He was just too good to be here on Earth with us. I love you, Pop.

Hello to all the Grove family and friends, please accept my condolences at your loss of a wonderful man. I never personally met Dave, but corrosponded with him via internet e-mails on the Mopar Mailing list. Dave gave me many insightful answers to my car related problems, and always took the time to explain everything in detail. I did once get the chance to speak with Dave reguarding a car i looked at for him a few years ago. I know he was working very hard on it and i think almost done with the final restoration. We also spoke of his coming to San Francisco on a visit, that now will never be a reality.
I will forever miss his wisdom and wit.
May God speed you to a better place, Dave.

It seems I'm always telling my wife about "this guy" Dave Grove. Every time I talked to him on the phone he'd say something wonderfully profound about his wife. He was always telling me how in love with her he was and how she was "more beautiful today than the day I met her". We would begin our conversation with cars (typically our Shelby/Dodges) and always end up talking about our families, etc..
I just can't think of a kinder, more selfless person than Dave. For what it's worth, I know he loved his family very much, as he often spoke of them. He will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace forever in heaven with our Lord God.

Linda,
I have known David for several years. David touched my heart everytime I saw or talked to him on the phone. There are so many things I didn't know about David because he was so reserved and never spoke of things in his own life. I saw David about a month ago and I knew it would be the last time I would see him. It absolutely broke my heart. I guess God needed another angel!!!

I am saddened to hear of Dave's passing. Though I never met him, I know he was a great guy who will be truly missed by all who knew him. I am very sorry to hear of Dave's passing.
It is amazing the impact one can have even without actually meeting face to face. Dave was well known as a true gentlemen in the online Turbo Dodge community and always had a helping hand to offer to those who possessed less than his considerable knowledge. Please accept my sympathies and take some comfort in knowing that Dave was well liked and respected by many regardless of geographical location. Our community will certainly be all the poorer without Dave's presence.
