Sorry for your loss: I knew Denver briefly when we were students at Shawnee High School. We gave him the nickname "Country" and he didn't mind at all.

One of his constituents for years when he was alderman and later state representative he was always there for those he represented. I liked his sense of humor and his spirit. My heart felt sympathy to all of the family. God comfort you at your time of loss. Those are some mighty big shoes to fill.

To the Butler Family, So very sorry for your loss. My husband and I went to school with Denver. Each time I would see or hear about him in the news, I would always think of a very funny remark he would always make at school. He was well liked by all who knew him. Sandra Vogelsang

To Denver's family,
Your loss is felt by the many, many folks Denver touched. My connection was limited to the Frankfort experience, but I admired and liked Denver (and really enjoyed Oscar). Denver played a very important role in the life our Commonwealth and in the lives of its citizens.
May God be present for you and may you know that many, many folks are thinking about you at this time.

Marianne and the entire Butler family:
Yvonne and I are deeply saddened at the passing of a great person, a dedicated family man, a devoted public servant of his community and our state and most of all "our friend". Behind Denver's tenacity was a very gentle, kind, and considerate person. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and always.

Words could never express the loss we feel and we can only offer comfort and love to the ones he left behind. Denver was our next door neighbor and was absolutely the very best neighbor we have ever had. We will never have a neighbor as caring and loving as Denver. My children adored "DEMBUR" and loved his chickens. They flocked to Denver with open arms and always enjoyed the DUM DUM suckers and other gifts he would given to them ALL THE TIME. Denver had a huge heart, gentle voice, guiding hand and was a great resource for our political inquiries. He will be sorely missed by us.

I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Denver. While Our family has grown, gone our different directions and not seen as much of each other over the years, Tiffany and I always liked and respected Denver. I can remember riding around with my Dad for hours (but seemed like days) putting up election signs. We thought he was one of THE coolest guys. Then we would pile into his living room to watch the polls and celebrate on election night. While they may not be much to others, these are memories I will always cherish of him. My prayers are with all of his family and friends at this difficult time but especially his kids and grandkids because I know they all loved him so much. God be with you all and Denver will be GREATLY missed by so many.

Prayers to the Family, and Friends of Denver Butler. I worked the South end of Louisville as a Patrol Officer with the Louisville Police Department for eleven years. I had the honor of knowing Mr. Butler, and his wife. In my life I have not found another person who worked harder for the police Department, and our Brother Firefighters. He worked just as hard for the city, and those who elected him. He made the City of Louisville a greater place to work. The world is a better place because he lived, and he will be missed. God bless him,and his Family.
