Eleanor Wahle Obituary

Eleanor Elizabeth Shelburne Wahle

Eleanor Elizabeth Shelburne Wahle passed away suddenly and unexpectedly of congestive heart failure at her home in the afternoon of March 15, 2020.

Tootsie, as she was known to her friend's, was born in Fairfield, Kentucky to Fred and Lucille Shelburne. She married young and moved to Louisville, KY where she worked alongside her husband to build and grow their company, Graphik Ink, and raise their three children. Family and friends were always most important to her and she loved to cook and entertain. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards and watching sports on TV, especially the Kentucky Wildcats.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Jack, Tony and Joe Shelburne, and her sisters: Shirley Martin and Betty Hahn.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas B. Wahle, her sons: Mark and Garry (Jennifer) Wahle, her daughter: Julie Ann Lloyd, her grandchildren: Elizabeth and Ryan Lloyd, and Derek and Sidney Wahle, her sisters: Grace Barnes, Laura Hurst, and Wini Berthold, her brothers: Tommy and Alan Shelburne, and nieces and nephews that are too numerous to list.

Due to the COVID-19 virus, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Information will be sent as soon as arrangements are made. Tootsie chose to be cremated and did not want a viewing.

I am so sad today. Words cannot express how much I love this family. I had the privilege of working for them at Graphik Ink for several years. Tootsie was a ray of sunshine and stability during the ups and downs of growing a business that could be very stressful. She and I laughed and cried together many times. She and Tommy were the most down to earth, kind and generous people I've ever known. My prayers are with Tommy, Mark, Gary and Julie during these difficult times.
