Ray was a great person, I enjoyed our many conversations. He was always very positive and had a lot of sage advice. We worked together at HP before he retired. We held something in common, he started his job at DEC the same month, day and year I was born. Ray was an awesome manager and taught so many leaders on how to lead and how to be a better person. He will be sorely missed but I know he will be going to a better and brighter place and I look forward to the day that we will meet again.

Saddened to learn of Ray's passing. Memories of family gatherings way back when have been going through my mind. He had such a presence at those events, always a big smile and laugh, always ready and eager to tease us younger cousins (and even my Mom!) in a playful way. I looked up to him in more ways than one! He was truly a good, kind soul and will be missed. Looking back I regret not switching leagues to join his Legion team when he asked - those would have been fun, memorable years!
Trudy, Lisa, Lynn and Lori, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Take care,
Paul

My sincere condolences to Ray's entire family.
I first met Ray when I played Legion baseball for him, he was always a true gentleman and an inspirational coach. I was also lucky enough to play golf and spend time socially with Ray, he was always a man that could make any day enjoyable. Ray was and always will be a friend and mentor to all he knew.

I worked for Ray at Digital Equipment and he was a great boss but above that, a great man. When I made a life decision to move my family to Texas with Compaq, he gave me the best advice ever. "Always live within your means" as it applies to your career. He will be missed.

One of the first people I met when I joined Digital. For a period of time we lived a block away from each other in Lowell. Always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. We spent lots of hours talking baseball and sports. I will cherish our time together and will miss him dearly. So sorry for you loss Trudy and the girls. God bless.

What a great man and a great family!!! I had the pleasure to play for the American legion in the late 80’s with Ray as our coach. He had an incredible way of encouraging us when we were down or bringing us back down to earth when we were a little too full of ourselves. After being out of Lowell and not seeing him for a good 20 years I bumped into him at an event in Lowell and without missing a beat said “Chris, how are you?” Awesome!!! But that was the type of guy he was. Trudy and family, so sorry for your loss

My condolences to Ray's family. Please know he was truly a good guy. Had the pleasure of chatting with him several times. He always wanted to know how to play a better game of golf. I told him when I found a better way to play golf I would let him know. Rest in Peace my friend you will be missed..

To the Michel family, please accept my heartfelt condolences in Ray's passing. I worked at DEC with Ray and on occassion shared a ride home with him as we both lived in Lowell at the time. He was always a very supportive and helpful person who never forgot his roots. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to the entire Michel family for your loss.
I would meet up with cousin Ray on the golf course to update family news and the latest happenings. He always had a smile on his face just like his Mother Aunt Theresa did!

Ray's natural abilities as a baseball player were revealed very early on. He more than held his own as he played regularly on the sandlots with neighborhood kids who were several years older than he. More importantly, Ray was throughout his life a great guy who got along with everyone. Very approachable and unassuming, he quietly exerted a positive influence on his surrounding. Ray will be missed.

I played a lot of baseball growing up in Lowell but my best memories were playing 2 years under coach Michel’s Lowell Legion team in the early ‘80s
Trudy & Ray treated all the players like family and playing ball for him was really a true joy.
The best coach I ever had.
I will never forget Ray Michel
