Michael Carfagna Obituary

Michael J. Carfagna, Sr.
Loving Father & Grandfather
Marine Corps Veteran of Vietnam

LOWELL -- Michael J. " Mousie" Carfagna, Sr., 62, passed away unexpectedly on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2012 at Lowell General Hospital - Saints Campus.

Michael was the loving husband of Georgianna R. "Georgie" (Hughes) Carfagna who died on May 5, 2010.

Michael was born in Cambridge on May 6, 1950, a son of the late Alfred and Theresa (Callahan) Carfagna. Educated in the Somerville schools, Mr. Carfagna enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1969. Serving in Vietnam, he received the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and the Natl. Defense Service Medal.

Michael was a "Southie" Cab driver for many years. He was a well known resident of South Boston and Quincy before moving to Lowell 15 years ago. He also worked at GNC printing with his late wife and was a cook at a Summer Camp for children.

Michael enjoyed all sports, especially all the Boston teams. He was the type of guy who would do anything for anybody and would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mousie is survived by his daughter, Jodie Carfagna and her longtime companion Ricardo Luis; his son, Michael J. Carfagna, Jr. all of Lowell; three grandchildren, Marissa, Camren, and Matthew; his sister and brothers, Paulette Meucci and her husband Robert, Robert Carfagna and his wife Kathy, and Alfred Carfagna and his wife Linda; a godchild, Danielle Nanez; brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
