Donald Crowell Obituary
Donald R. "Chip" Crowell, 62, of Westford, MA died Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at
Lowell General Hospital. He was married to the love of his life, Barbara R. (O'Neill) Crowell with whom he would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on May 18, 2021.
Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of Donald A. Crowell and Florence (Almeida) Crowell. He graduated from Dracut High School with the class of 1976.
He owned and operated Crowell Construction of Westford. Chip was an avid fitness enthusiast and in "retirement" worked at Choice Fitness as a Personal Trainer and Spinning Instructor at Global Fitness. Chip could often be found helping a neighbor or family member with projects at home, caddying for Barbara in one of her golf tournaments, or riding his bike through Westford. He was a member of several biking organizations and enjoyed racing bicycles & mountain biking.
Besides his wife he is survived by his sons Donald Crowell & his husband Jamie Homen of Nashua, NH & Corey Crowell and his partner Jamar Banks of Merrimack, NH, his parents Donald &Florence Crowell, his mother-in-law Margaret O'Neill of Chelmsford, MA, his sisters Debbie & Wally Jarek of Pepperell, MA, Gayellen & Gus Silva of Dracut, MA, his brothers Richard "Dickie" Crowell & his partner Cindy Kazanjian of Dracut, MA & Daniel Crowell of Hudson, NH as well as his in-laws, the O'Neills, of Tyngsborough, MA and numerous nieces and nephews as well as his beloved dog Fenway.

Donald Royal Crowell of Westford, MA died Tuesday, March 30, 2021.Visiting hours Monday, April 5, 2021 from 3 to 7 P.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD with a funeral mass on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 10 A.M. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Tyngsboro, MA. Burial in Tyngsboro Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Faithful Friends Pet Rescue at faithfulfriendsrescue.org in honor of his beloved dog, Fenway. I didn't know Chip, but as a fellow cyclist, I can imagine the deep well of sorrow that this tragedy has caused.
I donated $100 to Faithful Friend Rescue to my bicycling brethren - there wasn't a way to specify "In Memory Of".

I was so sorry to hear of his passing. I remember him from our childhood, growing up in Lowell. He was a nice person, always smiling and kind.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family, uncle Donny, aunt Flo and all the kids and extended family. He will be missed and remembered fondly.

My sincere condolences go out to Chip’s family.
I took many spin classes with Chip and he was an exceptional instructor and a fun and caring person. He was always upbeat and never hesitated to help out. He will be truly missed.

I knew Chip from Choice fitness in Chelmsford. He was a very caring, kind, and generous towards me- he would help me with training, and would bring in glucose tablets for me in case I had an insulin reaction. I thoroughly enjoyed his spin classes and enthusiasm. I am glad to have known Chip. My sincere condolences go out to Chip’s family and friends. Ride on, my friend!
