We are so sorry to hear the loss of Uncle Clifton. Thank you for the memories of childhood and the good times we spent together. We always looked forward to the summer months in Michigan and holiday gatherings with all of you, my mom and Grandma. Wonderful man, wonderful wife, wonderful memories from
my graduate painting years at MSU with Clif (l960-63). How Jane put up with all of us I don't know. - I am slowly watching my world disappear; Clif was always an important part of it through my teaching and remains so in my personal work. I miss him and Jane and those good years.
I wish her the comfort of warm memories and peace-of-mind.

Dear Jane, our love to you and the adult sons. We were saddened by your loss and so happy to know you as great friends. Remember well the night we shared a Japanese meal at your rural home, also the gift of the Very Large Painting," The Chambers" which hung in our family room for many years. You will be pleased to know it's still in the Dodge family and graces the wall at Adele and Brian's Lansing condo. We'll be home from the NC condo after May 1st and will try to get with you then. Special friends, you made our lives richer from knowing both of you. We have toured the MSU art center and saw many of his paintings there. You were much too generous with our gift. Clif was my painting professor and inspiration to view and love art. He was tough with that underlying caring and love that meant so much to me as an artist. Clif and Jane were so wonderful together as people and artists.

Photo taken circa 1996 in an outfit Clif had purchased in Russia.
