Grand Ledge
Age 91, passed away, Thursday, April 6, 2017. Phyllis was born July 27, 1925 in Clarksburg, Indiana the daughter of Clifford and Goldie (Hite) Martz. A loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Render in 2010; brothers, John Robert Martz and Louis "Bud" Martz; brothers in law, Stan Kern and Robert Weedon. She is survived by her children, JoAnn (Terry) Render, Marcia (Tony) Gensterblum and Sara (Paul) Schrauben; sisters, Sara Kern and Betty Weedon; grandchildren, James and Sara Gensterblum and Evan and Leah Schrauben. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank all the staff at Independence Village of Grand Ledge for their loving care of Phyllis during the last eight years. As per Phyllis's wish, a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Michaels Catholic Church of Grand Ledge, MI in memory of Phyllis. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.palmerbush.com.

I first met Mrs. Render when I went home for lunch with Marcia one day in middle school. She made me feel so welcome. I will always remember her laugh and smile. I love the picture of her that you chose. Mrs. Render was always so kind and generous. She will certainly be missed. I am so sorry for your loss.
