Linda Jewell Gebhard

Linda Jewell Gebhard, 70, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 28, 2017, with her family by her side.

Linda was born August 1, 1947, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, to Norma Joyce (Young) Gibson and was raised by her mother and step-father, Theodore Gibson, in Lansing, Michigan. She graduated as Valedictorian of Eastern High School in 1965 and obtained her B.A. in Education, with Honors, from Michigan State University in 1969. She married the love of her life, John William Gebhard, on August 22, 1970, and spent the majority of her working years as the Fine Arts Department secretary at Maine East High School in Park Ridge, Illinois.

Linda is survived by her husband, John, her two children, Geoff (Alissa Borck) Gebhard and Sara (Bill) Zehr, her two grandsons, Matthew and Barrett Gebhard, her sister, Debra (Richard) Medcoff and her father, Ted Gibson. She was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law.

A Memorial Celebration will take place at Andrew's Open Pit & Sprits in Park Ridge Oct. 14 from 12:30-4:00 PM.  All are welcome to attend. Please feel free to wear bright colors as those were her favorite.

I am saddened to hear of your loss. I always enjoyed getting together so many years ago. I fondly remember that snowy, postponed Thanksgiving in New England.
