Richard Bussell Obituary

Lubbock- Richard "Buzz" Bussell, 89, of Lubbock, Texas died on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in Lubbock, Texas. Burial will be in Torrington, Wyoming, arrangements are pending with Coylers Funeral Home in Torrington. Buzz was born on May 24, 1928 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was adopted by Henry and Katherine Bussell who lived in Huntley, Wyoming, where he was raised. He married Vivian Foote of Torrington on September 26, 1952 in Brush, Colorado. They were married for 56 years until the time of her death on February 23, 2008. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for J.C. Penny for 45 years starting in Boulder, Colorado and working his way up as a manager of many stores in Colorado and New Mexico. They retired and moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. They later moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1997 to be closer to their daughter, Kathy Harris of Lubbock and Grandchildren, Bently, Justin and Kelsey. In Lubbock, he was a member of Lakeridge Methodist Church, as well as the Rotary Club and the Scottish Rites Masonry. He had a priceless sense of humor and he will be missed by many. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Harris and husband Stanley, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to the Lubbock Meals on Wheels.
