Thank you for this. Still fond memories of Henry Sessions. He had beautiful art work in his Palm Springs condo where we own one.
Interesting he was from Lubbock, Texas as so many famous people are from there, even today as the best NFL football player these days is from there!
Still like to read in the condolences his love of cars; we still have our Corvette Stingray for example and it really goes!

Every time I walk by their former Palm Springs condo I think of Henry and Barbara, like yesterday for example. A very nice couple, from the home of my favourite singer Buddy Holly (Holley) and Roy Orbison, Mac Davis and others.
Great to see Henry is still remembered.

We could use more people today who might possess even a fraction of what H.A. personally brought to each and every endeavor. We would all be better off for it.

Still missing H. A. and Barbara in Palm Springs, CA. Having read through the other condolences, had no idea of all his interests, including cars (it appears he had a Corvette, we have one of the last original Stingrays, a Fiero SE/GT, etc.) and airplanes (I was in Air Cadets). My thoughts are with the family at this later time; it sounds like he was a huge influence in Lubbock. I still remember him telling me about his connection to the Holley family (I have always been a fan of Buddy, as well as Roy Orbison, Mac Davis, etc. from the area). [email protected]

Barbara, I just learned today of HA's passing. Though it's been many years since we've been in touch, you and HA were always in my prayers because without your efforts so long ago, I would never have known the life I've been able to achieve. My children and I are so grateful.. May he rest in peace knowing he gave hope to so many, me included. With love, Sue Walker, now in Richardson TX.

I met Henry and his lovely wife Barbara here in Palm Springs last winter. Being a Buddy Holly fan, I asked them if they were from Lubbock as their license plate showed Texas on it, and fortunately I was correct. I was invited into their home to visit, and what a delightful, welcoming couple! I had just sent an email to them this morning from Palm Springs, and found out later in the day that Henry had passed away. Our heartfelt condolences. Ronald (and Susan) Lamb.

We knew "H" professionally and worked with him many years. What a graceful person he was.
He loved interesting automobiles and that was an interest he and I shared personally, albeit casually. At one time in the '90s he had a BMW M5 sedan I loved. He knew I could not afford such a car at the time, but he always encouraged me to take it for a drive whenever he visited our office in it. One day, out of the blue, he offered to trade the M5 for a Ford Taurus SHO I owned at the time. He told me he would give me "retail value" for the SHO and I could give him "wholesale value" for the M5. I still couldn't afford it at the time (the M5 was a substantially more valuable car). I knew he probably had no real interest in the SHO, and I knew he was trying to do me a BIG favor and make a personal dream come true. I always wish I had found a way to make it happen, but most importantly I have always wished I had more enthusiastically told him "Thanks!" for being so thoughtful and caring.
Anytime he would come to our office, if I saw him, I would wait for an appropriate moment to ask him something about his cars, and his face would always instantly light up and we would embark in conversation. It was always a highlight of the day for me.
The world could use a lot more men just like him.

I went to High School with H. A. in Sundown, Texas. We were in the graduating class of 1953. He was always a cheerful young man and was known as a deep thinker. He was one of the people I met at a young age who impressed me with his maturity and life knowledge. I have thought of him many times over the years.

What an amazing man! H.A. Sessions is by far the most honorable, loving, talented, and charismatic men that I have ever met. He has been my grandfather, role model, mentor, and inspiration since I was 10 yrs old (1995). I would not be the man I am today without H.A. Sessions. He is the reason I became an Architect and he has played a major role in my life growing up.... although I know he is looking down right now chuckling to disagree with me as he typically would, saying that I did it by myself. Well H.A., as I look at a few of your incredibly beautiful paintings on my wall I will tell you that you have always been my idol, inspiration, and have meant so very much to me, for the great man that you are. A true heart of gold! The world is a better place because of you and Barbara. H.A., Barbara, Kerry & Alvin, I love you so much and owe the world to you - my thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, John

Life won't be the same without H.A., a close friend since 1954 college days when we became Phi Kappa Psi brothers and roommates. I will always admire his talents and accomplishments in architecture, music, watercolor painting, race car driving, airplane piloting, real estate development, auto trading, skiing, tennis, and level-headed advice. He was fun, intelligent, inspirational, and supportive.
