Charles Kovar Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 1 to Jun. 2, 2014.
Funeral services for Charles Wayne Kovar, 56, of Moscow, will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Eastview United Pentecostal Church in Lufkin with Reverend David Hunt, Reverend Robert Jones, and Reverend Jonathon Kovar officiating. Private family interment will be in the Nerren Cemetery. Charles was born August 1, 1957 in El Campo, Texas to Georgia (Hatfield) and the late Joe Kovar. Charles died Friday, May 30, 2014 in a Houston hospital from injuries sustained in an industrial accident. Charles loved his family and spent his life making memories with his children and grandchildren. He had just experienced his best Easter ever where he cleaned out the bowl of Aunt Diane's famous banana pudding. His life goal was to lead others to Christ and to be an honest, reputable man. He was a true hero to his family, community, and coworkers. In order to provide for his family, he had been employed as a millwright at the Corrigan and Camden plywood facilities for the majority of his life. Charles was a member of the Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department, was actively involved in the Corrigan Youth Baseball program while his children were young, was the past president of the Corrigan Lion's Club, and was a past board member of both the Moscow Water Supply and New Life United Pentecostal Church in Corrigan. Charles was a member of the Eastview United Pentecostal Church in Lufkin and the First Baptist Church in Moscow. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Phyllis Kovar of Moscow; his children and their spouses, Chad and Melissa Kovar of Lufkin, Jonathon and Tiffany Kovar of Nacogdoches, Taylor and Megan Kovar of Lufkin, Emily and Andy Gregg of Justin, Texas, David L. Kovar of Corrigan, Christina and Steven Simoneaux of San Diego, California, Kevin Kovar of Moscow, Kyle Kovar of Moscow, and Kathleen and Troy Vandver of Huntington; grandchildren, Ally Fuller, Kate Kovar, Josie Kovar, all of Nacogdoches, Braden Kovar, Brody Kovar, Brandt Kovar, Kix Kovar, Kambry Kovar, all of Lufkin, and he was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Boy Gregg; mother, Georgia Kovar of Nacogdoches; sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine and Rick Voelker of Groveton, Theresa and Larry Maddux of Lovelady, Elizabeth and Michael O'Reilly of The Woodlands, and Tina and Lynn Babbs of Nacogdoches; brother, David R. Kovar of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Jerry Davis, Kyle Kovar, Kevin Kovar, Bill Mitchell, Richard Voelker, and Eric Hensley. Honorary pallbearers will be M.C. Jordan, David R. Kovar, members of the Georgia-Pacific Maintenance Department, and members of the Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Eastview United Pentecostal Church located at 1407 N. Medford Drive in Lufkin. I remembered today all the little things my dad taught me. Like changing a tire and measuring wood, using a jigsaw and putting in a toilet and floors. One memory I laughed about is him trying to teach me to drive a stick. He took me in an old geo storm down backroads and had patients with me as a stalled the car out over and over. I miss the daughter daddy dates we used to have at redlobster. Sometimes I think about what life would be like if he was still here, but doesnt change things. Iv turned to my Heavenly Father though cause he is the only father figure ill ever have in my life again..

Can't believe it's been 6 years. I want to tell everyone that my dad saved me and took a chance taking me and my brother in. I was a troubled little girl and he showed us what love was and who Christ was. It took me awhile to see what he has been teaching but I'm 26 now and I can say I honor my father by telling others about Christ and how he saved me when I was lead by Satan so very young. I know he is in heaven saying finally. Ill be ready to greet you at the gates when that time comes. ❤

Grace, God's mighty grace will carry you through this valley. No one can know how any of you feel, but I can assure you, Jesus will walk THROUGH every step with you. To me, the greatest legacy Charles leaves behind is his children. I did not teach all of them but Jonathon and Chad will always stand out in my memory as young men of integrity. Keep trusting Jesus!
