Gerald Cornelius Obituary

Gerald E. Cornelius, age 73, of Fort Gratiot, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in Port Huron Hospital following a long illness. He was born March 5, 1939 in Pineville, Ky. and has lived here most of his life. Gerald retired from Ford Motor Company as a Machine Repairman in 2008. He was a very generous man who loved and was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Derengowski-Cornelius of Fort Gratiot; sons, Robert (Penny) Cornelius of Port Huron, Ronald Cornelius of Port Huron Township and Gerald Cornelius of Port Huron; five grandchildren; three sisters and one brother also survive. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. I met gerald a few years ago and became friends. He really enjoyed to come to the river and hangout with the fishermen and johnny dog. Gerald was a wonderful man and will be missed greatly. I am so sorry for your loss!
