Macon , GA- Caiden Hughes, 7, born six weeks premature; he beat all the odds and was destined for greatness no matter the challenges.
Family was his world, quick to smile and give love. He was the epitome of a "big" brother to Destiny, giving her hugs while keeping a watchful eye. The protector, died on November 5, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Memorial services and a celebration of his life will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Shannon Back officiating. Burial will be private. The family will meet friends from 3 p.m. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Caiden was a native of Lizella and was in the 1st grade at Skyview Elementary. He was a member of Lizella Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alana Wuolukka.
Survivors include, father, Kevin Hughes of Tifton; Kimberly Owens; sister, Destiny Hughes of Lizella; maternal grandparents, Michael and Lana Wuolukka of Lizella; paternal grandparents, Belinda Bales of Fitzgerald and R. Wayne Walker II of Cedar Rapids; maternal great-grandparents, Hewey and Vernice Smith, of Titusville; paternal great-grandmother, Barbara Bales of North Carolina; David Poole; uncle, Wolf Hunter Uhl; as well as uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

I will miss seeing that smile and how protective he was of his little sister when they were at school. I am a teacher at Skyview and saw him and his sister everyday day. I saw their mother at least 3 days out of the week. They will both be missed and I am now and will continue to pray for Destiny and the rest of the family. God has his loving arms around this family and will get them through this trying time.
