Dr. Mehdi Sheikholeslam

Dr. Mehdi Sheikholeslam -MACON - Dr. Mehdi Sheikholeslam passed away Friday evening, January 8th at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Mehdi Sheikholeslam was born in Esfahan, Iran March 14, 1933. He had a degree in English literature and went to medical school in Shiraz, Iran. He came to the United States in 1963 where he studied Orthopedic surgery. Dr. Sheikholeslam completed residencies at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and at the Moore Clinic in Columbia, South Carolina. He completed Basic Sciences at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois and was a Fellow in Hand Surgery at Columbia University in New York City, New York. He also had practices during his career in both Central Georgia, and Dallas, Texas. He was listed in Who's Who in the South in 1971 and also the Dictionary of International Biography. He was also a member of the Royal Society of England. Dr. Sheikholeslam also published research in several prominent medical journals. He was at present a resident of Macy Retirement Center in Macon, Georgia. -He is survived by his children, Zahra Karinshak of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Scarlet Sheikholeslam of Macon, Georgia, Yasmine Redmond of Great Falls, Montana, Reece Sheikholeslam of Phoenix, Arizona, and Zandt Sheikholeslam of Macon, Georgia. His sons-in-law are Bruce Karinshak and Steven Redmond. He also has eight grandchildren, Azuree McGovern, Alexandria Ward, Elise and Marilee Karinshak, Beau and Haleigh Redmond, and Zayna and Will Sheikholeslam. -Services were held at 2P.M.
