Fort Valley, Georgia - Mary Ann Wainwright Peterman, 79, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021, after an extended illness. Services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, with family receiving friends from 9:30AM until 10:30AM at Rooks Funeral Home, 213 West Church Street in Fort Valley, GA followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00AM in Oaklawn Cemetery, 720 South Camellia Boulevard in Fort Valley, GA. Rev. Mac Goddard will officiate.
Born in Taylor County to the late Ulysses Simpson Wainwright and Lorena Binion Cummings, Mary Ann was a bookkeeper at Blue Bird Body Company and Peterman Auto Supply. She loved to fish and was an avid cook. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and going on many cruises.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Millard Peterman; daughters; Cindy Doles (Jeff) and Alecia Kellett (James); grandchildren; Jennifer Dolan (Mike), Brandon Doles (Kim), Blake Doles (Courtney), and Caleb Posey (Cortney); four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence Wainwright. She is preceded in death by brothers; Lonnie Wainwright and Henry Earl Wainwright.
Family may be contacted at 711 Country Club Road in Fort Valley, GA. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley is in charge of arrangements.
