JEFFERSONVILLE - Reynold Slaughter Jr., 98, of South Solon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio on Feb. 5, 1919 to the late Josephine Louise Dorn and Reynold Slaughter.
Reynold was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and was a lifelong Farmer. Reynold was a member of Midway Presbyterian Church, Midway and a member of Jeffersonville F&AM Lodge 468. He raised and raced race horses.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, June Elizabeth Simmermon Slaughter in 2007.
Reynold is survived by his daughters, Rebecca (Kenneth) Harrison of South Solon, Ohio and Mary (John) Willis of Chicago, Illinois; a sister, Anne Black of Santa Barbara, California; grandchildren, Amy (Todd) Gustin, Kami Writsel, Elizabeth Willis, Jesse (Katie) Slaughter Willis, Robert (Hannah) Slaughter Willis; great-grandchildren, Megan (Seth) Winegar, Andrea Gustin, Kevin Gustin, Dakota Davis, Hannah Fout, Lilah Mae DeGraeve Willis, Elle June DeGraeve and George Slaughter Willis; two sister-in-laws, Rosalyn Bullock and Ramona Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Slaughter home, 13830 Slaughter Road. Graveside services will be held at the Whitman Cemetery at the convenience of the family on Friday, Feb. 17, with Pastor Randy Terry officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midway Presbyterian Church or Loving Care Hospice, London, Ohio.
