Harold Spiegel, 85
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- Harold (Hal) Spiegel, 85, of Delray Beach, Fla., formerly of Portland, passed away on June 8, 2012.
Hal is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Eleanor (Ostroff) Spiegel; sons Scott of Ashburn, Va.; Rick, wife Barbara and daughters Irina, Alexandria and Talia of South Portland; Brad and wife Janet of Lynn, Mass.; and daughters Ciarra (Joy) Lodin of New York, N.Y., and her son, Kyle of Franklin, Mass.; and Lonni Reasor , husband Eric and daughters Jaden and Aubree of Fairfax, Va.
Hal served in the South Pacific after WWII with the Naval SeaBees.
Hal lived in Portland for 25 years. He was owner of Pine State Hardware before moving to Florida in 1992.
Hal was an avid bridge player attaining Life Master status. In Florida he worked as a bridge director and was founding president of the Rainberry Bay Bridge Club. He was an avid sports fan especially of the New York Giants. He also enjoyed poker, bowling and had a wonderful sense of humor.
A funeral for Hal was held in Florida and a military service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
