Hi Aunt Em,
I've thought about you lately.I wanted you to know that I went back to school this past semester and I have 7 more classes to finish my Associate in Arts Degree in Nursing. I'll get 5 out of the way before the end of this year. The other two classes left, I'll take when I can. I hope to start the Nursing program in January of 2008, it's about a 2 year program. When I finish that program hopefully, I'll be able to graduate with an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing as well as my Arts one.

Just to let all know: went to visit Emy's Site today, and the trees are budding, the grass is green, and the birds are singing. Paid my respects to Lolo and Lola also. I was wondering if Emy will be getting her own plaque this spring? Does anyone have any info.?? Please feel free to email me. Thank you. Tracy

I worked with Mona at the Worker's Comp. Board in Portland for many years. She always had a nice smile on her face and I'd hear her laugh when she was talking with others in the office. I don't think I ever saw her in a bad mood all that time. We were so sad when she left to go to Florida, but realized that her family meant so much to her. She always came to visit the office when she was back in Portland and we'd try to get her to come back to work there. Oh those eggrolls! No company party was complete without Mona's famous eggrolls, what a good cook she was! I was shocked to hear of her passing, she was way too young. It was a delight to meet many of her loving family members at the wake and to see what a large, caring group of people they are, just as she'd always told us they were. Her delightful lighthearted spirit will be missed by all of us who knew her.

Aunt Em was a very special to me. I can remember being three years old and the pictures we took together in the cold snow in Maine. The fun times we had playing in the snow during winter or going to the lake in the summer . I got to attend her high school graduation and her college graduation. My sister Josie and I would always want Aunt Em to sleep over our house. She was always happy and smiling. I can remember her crying when we were moving to Florida. Over the years she came down to visit and we would go to Disneyworld, Busch Gardens, or Universal. She decided to move down and though she was closer our times together were limited. I can remember a few weeks ago we had a cook out at her house and that was really the last time I had seen her smiling and laughing. It was always fun being with Aunt Em. I know though she is now in a better place.

In our family, the words "I Love You" is not often said. We kept it in our hearts of how much we loved each other. Ramona and I grew up together and as far as I can remember, I don't remember saying the words " I Love You" even once, but I know that "I Love You." You always have that cheerful smile on your face. We take things for granted. Now, God took you away from us so soon. It's too late now to say "I Love You." So many times and in so many years, we seldom say those words to one another until it's too late.I will always remember you whenever you told stories or jokes, you always started laughing before you even get halfway telling the story or joke, so we start laughing before we get the whole story. As long as I live, you'll always be in my heart. Love you and miss you so much. Love you, always.

To my Aunt Em
I don't even know how to begin I have so many great memories about aunt em. When me and my family arrived here in the states (portland)in 1982, I was young, confused and scared at thesame time. But when i met aunt em, I knew already that we're going to be ok. We we're unseparable after that. She's the type of person that loves spending a lot of time taking care her family and sometimes don't have time for herself. I "Thank you" for that Aunt Em....I'm going to miss you.. I LOVE YOU!!!!!

My Aunt Ramona(Aunt Em)was a great human being. She was always in good spirits no matter what was going on. I could talk to her about anything. She would encourage me and support me.Her smile and laughter would cheer me up. I remember when we went to Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, Magic Kingdom at Disney World three days in a row(one park each of those days).I remember the times that my siblings Roberto(John),Josie, and Jessica and I would chat with her and tell stories and there were times we would laugh and laugh and sometimes even for no reason. She moved down to Florida near my family a few years ago and I wish I had gotten the chance to spend more time with her. The times that I did see her, I will always remember. I know that everytime I look at a star shining, Aunt Em is looking down and guiding us through. I will miss her, but I know we'll be together again someday.

The way aunt em smiled made you want to smile too. If she was in pain she tried not to show it so we wouldn't be sad and so we wouldn't think about it because she was smiling and laughing. Aunt Em was all ways happy and was never glum or down. She was never mean. aunt emy had a garden and they had fruit that we call star fruit because when you cut it is shaped like a star.I miss her.

I remember when Auntie Emy, the kids, and me went to Bush Gardens and Disney World. We really had a incredible time, we ate so much. We took great pictures. And laughed a lot. And also her cooking. She loved to cook a lot of food. Especially her Filipino dish. The last time she cooked for me is her famous lumpia. Those are one of her best recipes. So Auntie Emy we will miss you. Where ever you are, you'll always be in our hearts.

My dear sweet aunt. I wish everyone knew this woman. She was the happiest and friendliest person you could ever meet. I grew up with her and what a treat life was when she was around. Her laugh was contagious. She had the best sense of humor. I will miss our everyday chats on the phone that we would have for hours. She encouraged me and believed in everything I did. I will miss her so much, not only is she my aunt but she is my best friend.

I remember when Ramona, ( Aunt Emy ), first came to America. She was 13, and I was 10, and felt that it was up to me to show her the ways of America. She was soooo nervous about each and every thing, but she tackled them head-on, and always believed in doing things to the very best of her ability. That is why she is so fondly remembered by so many today. She always had a smile in her eyes, and a laugh in her voice. She had an optimistic outlook no matter what the situation be, and was never jaded from that outlook. When you thought that there was no hope, she actually made you see that there was. Her voice actually rang with a melodic air about it. It was hard to tell sometimes if she was singing or talking. And Talk about a cook!! When my lolo first came to America, he would cook up the most delicious meals, and I would rave about them, and all he would ever say was, " You just wait until your aunt Emy comes here ", and boy was he right! Little did this 10 year old realize that as I was teaching my aunt the ways of America, she was teaching me the ways of the Philippines that would last my lifetime. Each and every person who was fortunate enough to have her as a friend or relative is so so much richer for it. Aunt Emy.... until we meet again...thank you for everything.

Ramona was a dear, cheerful, loving person who brightened up our workdays at the Workers' Compensation Board. She loved her family, especially her neices and nephews, and often proudly showed us pictures of family events. Ramona's famous eggrolls were an integral part of all of our office feasts. She used to stay up all night and make hundreds of them for us; we ate every single one. I remember her with the greatest affection and grief that her life was so short, but she truly was a joy to all who knew her. My condolences to her beloved family. Meg
