Gene A Ward, age 54, of Los Angeles, California, drowned accidentally on May 1, 2008, while vacationing in Maui, Hawaii. A Memorial service is being held in Los Angeles on May 25th. A private family memorial service will be held in Minnesota at a later date.Gene was born to James and Fern Ward in Winnebago, Minnesota on October 1, 1953.Gene is survived by his mother, Fern (Duane) Vanderford of Elmore, MN; two brothers, Harland “Butch” (Carol) Ward, of Le Sueur, MN, and Gordon (Sharon) Ward of Mankato, MN; and a sister-in-law, Linda Ward of Waseca, MN. He is also survived by a half-sister, Kathy Neiswold, of Stewartville, MN, and many nieces and nephews.Preceeding Gene in death were his father, James, a brother, Roger, and maternal and paternal grandparents.
