Miranda "Randy" Starrett Moritz

Mansfield - Miranda "Randy" Starrett Moritz, age 68, of Mansfield peacefully passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's hospital in Westerville surrounded by family following a brief illness.

Randy was born March 25, 1952, in Ashland the daughter of John and Barbara (Beach) Pastor. After graduating Stow High School with the class of 1970, she went on to earn her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Bowling Green State University. Randy was the librarian for Madison Junior High School for 35 years and was dearly loved by faculty and students alike.

Randy was very social with a bright smile and an infectious laugh. She dearly loved to cruise and thoroughly enjoyed spoiling the grandchildren, so much so that she was called "Nana Presents." Randy was an active volunteer for decades. She focused her efforts since retirement on the Art Center, Kingwood Center, Altrusa, and educating children on study skills through the Salvation Army Dewald Center. She was also very active in the Miss Ohio Pageant for many years, even serving as director and co-director for the local pageant.

She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Fred Moritz of Mansfield; brother Drew (Adele) Pastor of Columbia, MD; children Deb (Frank) Ross of Delaware, Shery (John) Milz of Perrysburg, and Don (Jackie) Moritz of Columbus; grandchildren Adam, Sonja, Patrick, Mitch, Shelby, Matt, Donovan, Tom, Abby, and Lauren; great-grandchildren Clay, Ross, and Nolan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Randy was preceded in death by her sister, Alix Kolt.

A private memorial mass will be celebrated by Father Matt Frisbee at Resurrection Parish with interment to follow in Lexington Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel is honored to serve the family. Online condolences can be made at: SnyderFuneralHomes.com. She was such a great person, teacher and librarian. When I was her library aid in Madison north she told me I was better than I think I am and said I was such a nice boy. My condolences to the family she was super awesome it was like having a second mom watching over me in jr high.
