Ventana Nancy Jill Amico Passed away August 13, 2018. Born June 27, 1946 in Flint, Michigan to Dale and Mary Jo Stanquits, now deceased. Leaves Tiffany Stanquits Cartier, a sister in Seattle, Washington. Ventana attended Clark-ston High School in Clarkston, Michigan and followed her education at The University of Michigan. As a human resources organizational consultant, her career spanned many years in San Francisco. Younger years were spent living on a farm riding horses with her sister. She loved animals and her pets included a monkey, raccoon, mink, possum, dogs, cats and a skunk. Married Robert Weir and moved to Oakland, CA and later divorced. Second marriage was to Charles Amico in the 1980's while residing in Larkspur, CA. Divorced in early 2000's. More recently, Ventana moved to Novato where she delighted in improving her home and creating a lovely garden setting. Art was her committed passion while working in different mediums, particularly metal. She was active in The Edge Art Group and Fiber/Dimensions. Ventana leaves many, many friends who adored her for her steadfast friendship, sense of humor, generosity and love of life and beauty. Another organization she was proud to be a part of, Institute of Noetic Science inspired her to co-chair the IONS Community Group in San Rafael which is devoted to new ideas in scientific and transformative understanding. A celebration of Ventana's life will be held at The Community Congregational Church, 145 Rock Hill Drive in Tiburon, on Friday, October 5th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.. Donations to: Best Friends Animal Society in Utah, an animal rescue and sanctuary organization.
