Beloved husband of Susanne (nee Roberts) Amico; devoted father of Cheryl Amico; dear friend of Virginia Amico; born in Serradifalco, Sicily, Joe is the loving son of the late Leonardo and Marianna Amico; dearest brother of the late Salvatore "Sam" Amico, Salvatrice "Sally", Rose, Liborio "Lee", Angelo and Lucy; also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews with whom he shared his wisdom, charm and unique sense of humor. Given his passion for his Italian heritage and love of learning the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Literacy of Buffalo Niagara or Centro Cultural Italiano di Buffalo. Joe's family would like to thank his aides for the kind, loving care they provided in the last years of his life. A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held at a later date. Mr. Amico was my 5th-grade teacher in the 1980s. He was one of my favorites! I would occasionally run into him at the gym, and he always remembered me and asked about my family. I actually was just telling a friend of mine a story about him growing up. Keeping you and him in my prayers.
