Linda Schwartz Obituary

Linda Sue Schwartz, 80, of Lake Worth, FL and East Hampton, CT, and formerly Westfield, MA, passed away on January 20, 2020 in her home in Florida surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband Dr. Joel Schwartz, their children Alison, David, Susan, Beth and Eric, along with their spouses and 12 Grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Jerome Rosen and sister-in-law Nina. Linda was a graduate of Smith College and received a master's degree in social work from the University of Connecticut. Her career included a private counseling practice, owning and managing a retail store selling computers and software in the early 80's when the field was just getting started, and as a bookkeeper for the Raleigh Rug Co. of Springfield, MA. She was a member of Beth El Synagogue, a lifetime member of Hadassah and a member of community theater groups in both MA and FL. There will be a graveside service at the Beth El Cemetery in West Springfield at noon on Friday, January 24 followed by a service and lunch at Beth El Synagogue, 979 Dickinson St. Springfield. Memorial contributions can be made to Goodspeed Musicals, P.O. Box A, East Haddam CT. The Ascher-Zimmerman Funeral Home is assisting the family. I am so so sorry Joel! I have all those memories of you and linda hosting us in FL when dick was struggling to recuperate from surgery . You were a true friend to him and he always was so appreciative. Hearing about linda was a shock. Didn't t know you had moved to CT. Please know that u r in my thoughts. Ginny.
