David A. Unser, 46, of Allentown, died at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief unexpected illness on Monday, February 27, 2017. He was the husband of Lori (Yasenchak) Unser. The couple celebrated 18 years of marriage on September 26th. Born in Allentown, he was the son of David N. and Charlotte (Essig) Unser. Dave earned an MBA from DeSales University in 2010, his BS from Bloomsburg University in 1995; an Associate's Degree from Montgomery County Community College in 1992 and was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Class of 1988. He worked as a Buyer/Planner for most of his career, most recently employed by CECO Environmental of Telford. Dave enjoyed nature, especially on a motorcycle ride with friends. He was passionate about science. He pursued the answers to "life's big questions" often through avid philosophical discussion or an anecdote about Star Trek and Star Wars. Dave took pride in his relationships with family, friends and coworkers. Survivors: Wife; Parents; Brother, Dan Unser and his wife Maureen; Niece, Madalyn; Aunts, Uncles and Cousins; and his furry friends, Rudy and Charlie. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm Street, Emmaus. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Contributions: May be made to Sacred Heart Hospital, 421 W. Chew Street, Allentown, PA 18102.

My deep condolences to all of the Unser Family at this difficult and sad time. I am so sorry to hear about the recent loss of David. I am thinking and praying for all--I always liked David and found him very smart!! He always had interesting things to say and I have great memories from childhood that I will always cherish. Not too long ago, I had the opportunity to chat w/David about the fun times we had growing up as neighbors. We both had a good laugh and I am so glad I could have that memory with him as adults. Please accept the sympathy from all of the Stauffer family at this time of sadness. I am shocked and saddened beyond words.
He was a gentle, kind and thoughtful man.
I will always remember his big smile. I remember stopping our motorcycles in New Tripoli on a Sunday and agreeing that God was everywhere and then driving on.

Many years ago Dave joined a few friends and my wife on a motorcycle ride all over the eastern part of the state. My bike broke down a few miles from home. After riding nearly 400 miles already, he drove home, got his truck and came back only to load it and take it back to our home. I really didn't know him well, but if that was the kind of person he was, then I missed out. My condolences.

I am extremely saddened to hear that David had passed. We were in homeroom together in school, and even though I had not known him well , I wish I had gotten to know him better. From being around the same group of people you could tell he was well liked. I remember walking home in back of him from school and to this day that will be a memory of mine. You will be missed David.
