Gladys Koder Obituary
Gladys F. Koder, 67, Springfield Twp., died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at her residence. Born in Quakertown on November 24, 1944 to the late George J. and Edna I. (Wohlbach) Koder. She worked as an LPN and EEG Tech at St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill for 23 years. Gladys was the Superintendent and Secretary of the Springtown Cemetery. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Springtown, Springtown Volunteer Fire Company, Springfield Twp. Historical Society, Keystone Mountain Riders Rescue Unit, and a Certified Dog Trainer. Survivors: Sisters Arlene M. Kotash of Wilmington, DE, Patricia A. wife of Joseph J. Kadelock of Springtown; nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Annie. Services: Family and friends are invited to call 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2012 and 9 to 10 a.m., Tuesday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main St., Hellertown followed by the service at 10 a.m., Tuesday. The interment will conclude services at Springtown Cemetery, Springfield Twp. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at:www.heintzelmancares.com. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials to Make a Wish Foundation and /or Animal Rescue Society of ones choice.

Hi Gladys, its me your neice Chris, just sittting here wishing I could call you, and talk with you. I still can't believe you're gone. Way too soon before your time. I miss you oh so very much. I want you to know you made sure to go in style with the horse and carriage. You always came up with great ideas. You know you're one of my angels now, you'll be in my Heart forever. Gladys I just want to thank you for being such a good friend.I was a neighbor to Gladys I lived right down the hill so I always walked my dog Snickers up to the cemetery and I always saw Gladys out mowing,caring for her animals, gardening,etc.Always busy.It will seem so weird not seeing her up there anymore.It was my privilege to know Gladys and be her friend.

Gladys knew the importance of connecting with people who could tell you the "history" and she knew how important it was to piece the puzzle together. God Bless her for all the endless hours she selflessly gave to the Springfield Township Historical Society. She was a great role model for anyone that appreciated the value of history and roots.
