The Schweder Family:

Our sincerest sympathy and prayers in the loss of a wonderful person, especially to his family. He was so consistently upbeat and positive about everything he participated in. Our first meeting was when he director of the City of Bethlehem Parks and Recreation Department. He was very dedicated and concerned that the parks and programs were reaching out to all the people of Bethlehem, especially the children. He never faltered in his devotion to doing the best possible in all of his activities. We will always carry with us his warm smile, gracious heart and caring attitude.

The Schweder Family,

I was saddened to learn of the passing of your husband and father. I have fond memories of growing up in the late 50's and early 60's and spending time at John's with Michael. More recently my parents enjoyed traveling with John on the many SS Simon & Jude trips. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Warm regards,

Pat Urello

We were very sad to hear about John's passing. Please know that all of you are in our prayers. We will miss his smile and his witty comments after the 5:00 mass at Ss. Simon & Jude. We know he is at peace in our Lord's embrace and will rest with Him for all eternity. God rest his soul and God bless all of you.

I was very sorry to read about John. As a child I lived across the street from the family, in fact I remember receiving rides to school from John's father the fire chief when the weather was bad. That always made my day!! Also my sister Betty went to school with Mary (Lyons). Unfortunately, Betty is in a nursing home in the Harrisburg area, and couldn't be here. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
