Russell J. White, 79, of York, formerly of Autryville, N.C., died Thursday, August 30, 2007, in the Lutheran Retirement Village at Utz Terrace, Hanover. He was the husband of Pearl (Hallman) White. The couple celebrated 53 years of marriage on June 5. Born in Hardwick, Vt., he was the son of the late Chester H. and Martha (Morse) White. He was a member of Bread of Life Worship Center, Clinton, N.C. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years in the Fayetteville, N.C., area before retiring in 1998. Previously, he was employed as a farm hand for 15 years. Survivors: Wife; sons, Gerald White and his wife Cindy of Richlands, N.C., Gregory White and his girlfriend Lorry Williams of Fayetteville; daughter, Virginia Hinkle and her husband David of Hamburg; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Services: 3 p.m. Sunday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. Call 2-3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Interment will be private, at the convenience of the family.
