My deepest sympathy to Joan's family & friends.
I feel that I have known her my entire life......growing up in the same neighborhood.......having her as a "big sister" & nurse mentor at St. Mary's School of Nursing in Philadelphia.....and having the pleasure of being her "maid of honor" in her wedding at Sacred Heart Church in Allentown.
I will remember Joan as a lovely, vibrant person and feel blessed to have had her as a very special friend.
Special thanks to the person who posted this obituary.......
Sincerely, Frances "Spade" [email protected]

Remember Joannie, as our supervisor at SHH - always with a smile. SHe would make ceramic holiday ornaments and give them to her staff as Christmas presents. I still place them on my Christmas tree every year and remember her each time I do.
May she rest in peace.
