May God Bless Eddie and his family. He was my first ever friend, born in the same year and living only doors away from each other. So many good memories... Like the mystery of optics and a magnifying glass on a sunny day hovering over the ant hill. If we could focus the sunlight to a pin point on a fire ant, we would marvel at the tiny puff of smoke. So fitting for young boys. Or, how Eddie would drag the tips of his shoes on the sidewalk to and from Donegan school, wearing holes thru the leather with each step. Only with the shoes he hated. A new pair was soon to follow. We loved riding our bikes together, sometimes with a balloon or playing card attached to the front fork so each spoke would pop a sound like a motorcycle engine, the faster the louder. It was so much fun. In his portrait of Floyd Best store, you will noticed a spider bike parked against the store... It is a duplicate of his purple bike. We always got along with each other. Thank you Eddie, I cherish the wonderful childhood we shared. You are the best first ever friend a person can wish for...

Dear Bolcar family and friends,
My sympathy to all of the family of Eddie. I am a professor at Moravian College and got to know Eddie over the years and always enjoyed speaking with him. He was upbeat even in the days of his illness and his artwork is excellent and inspirational. I know he will be missed by many at Moravian. May God bless him and all of you. Jim West

To Lynn & Alex... I knew Ed through bowling when I was a young kid at Boulevard in the Classic League. We reconnected through Facebook, and I got to see a side of him I never knew. His tremendous talent in painting, and his humorous side. I also saw him not back down in his fight. He fought till the very end. He did not let Cancer take away his passion for his love of painting, his family nor did he let it take away his spirit. May he rest in Peace, and watch over you both. RIP Ed!

It wasn't the best place to meet someone, but we met Ed in the pre-op room as my daughter awaited surgery. He introduced himself and we became an instant fan of his positive personality, even as he looked at the first scan of the "beast" he was going to have to fight. Following him on fb, I have always wished I could have gotten to know him more. He surely made an impact with his humor, talent in painting, and love for his family. RIP Ed

Eddie, RIP my friend. I will forever cherish the two paintings I bought from you, my beautiful "Lighthouses". When I look at them, I will think of you. Seeing you everyday at " The EmCee " at Moravian College was a great pleasure. Every morning, wheat toast and a small coffee at break time...always the same breakfast....that was you Eddie!!! Now you get to paint pictures of Jesus, so glad we were friends....Barbie

Eddie - You will be surely missed by not only your family, but by anyone connected with bowling in the Lehigh Valley. I was lucky enough to install you in the Bethlehem Bowlers Hall of Fame in 1991, and you deserved it!
