Carol Stengel-Peoples Obituary

Carol Ann Stengel-Peoples of Emmaus, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2016, at the age of 43. Words cannot express how much she will be missed by her family, friends, and colleagues. Vibrant and creative, Carol pursued many passions including a deep love of the Spanish language and culture, watercolor painting and other art, flamenco dancing, reading, and hiking with her cherished Goldendoodle, Rubi. Carol's entrepreneurial spirit enabled her to turn many of these passions into profitable business ventures that she owned and operated, including Pachacuti, LLC, a fair trade jewelry and gifts retail operation, and Carolina Miro Translation and Interpreter Services, LLC. Her zest for all things Spanish also led her to such destinations as Spain, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Peru, Bolivia, and Mexico, where she enthusiastically immersed herself in the language and culture and cultivated many lifelong friendships. Services: Carol's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. Friends are invited to visit with her family from 10 to 11 am at Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 North Reading Ave. Boyertown. The memorial service will commence at 11 am. A graveside service will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 317 W. Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a scholarship established in her name. Checks can be made payable to the Carol A. Stengel Spanish Scholarship, Boyertown Area School District, 911 Montgomery Avenue, Boyertown, PA 19512. Online condolences may be made at www.lwottfuneralhome.com.

I just learned of Carol's passing - I am shocked and sad. Friends for the past few years, I admired her entrepreneurial spirit, and, supported her in bookkeeping matters. Last night, when I drove past her home, I thought how I had not heard from her for a few weeks. Now, she is in a different home. Wishing she is totally resting in peace, and has her dream after life of the Colorado mountains in Heaven.

Years ago at Millersville, I remember telling Carol that if I had a sister I would want her be just like her. In the heat of a crisis, she always had the perfect words of encouragement and of understanding. Twenty plus years later, the same rang true. She had a kind, beautiful soul and she will be deeply missed.

My most heartfelt condolences to all of her family and friends.

I met Carol two years ago in August when I worked at the Staples on Lehigh Street. When I first met her; I knew she was going to be my friend. There was something magical and wonderful about her when you met her. She always had this personality that was bigger that the galaxy itself; so humble, loving and a kind kindred spirit. When I had a bad day working at Staples and she came in to say "Hey Jay." I knew that my day was going to be awesome because of her. To her laugh and smile; she was the one true person that could make me laugh from my soul. She was a rarity in itself.

I found out last night that she passed. She was someone special and someone close to my heart. She will always be a part in my life. I'm going to miss the person that could make me laugh when I had the worse day and vise versa. I'm going to miss her laugh, her smile and her; lighting up the room just by coming in; no smiling needed ... But when she smiled, she was definitely the life of the party.

My deepest condolences to Carol's family and other friends. We knew one-another from church and a meditation group from where we effortlessly became friends because of Carol's cheerful, outgoing and passionate nature. I am blessed to have had time to spend with Carol and will always remember her, our deep conversations on life and love, that sparking smile and her good heart. She is, undoubtedly, adding a wonderful spark to heaven...
