Grace Gillmeyer Obituary

Grace L. Gillmeyer
Grace L. Gillmeyer, 72 years, of Allentown, died Tuesday, April 12 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Gillmeyer Sr. Born in Stonehurst Hills, Upper Darby, she was a daughter of the late Fredrick and Grace (McLeish) Jackson. She was a cashier for Thrift Drug, 15th and Allen streets, Allentown, for 16 years before retiring in 1990. She was a salesperson for the former H. Leh & Co. department store in the drapery department, 1967-75. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, watching John Wayne movies and her cats. Survivors: Sons, Michael and Joseph Jr., both of Allentown, John of Kuhnsville, Rev. Brother Patrick of Aurora, Ill.; daughters, Regina, wife of Thomas Boka, and Maureen Gillmeyer, both of Allentown, Kathleen, wife of Russell Lauchnor of Slatington; seven grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Micki Komorowski Rudella of Springfield, Helen McNaight of Newark, Del. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 15 in the Robert C. Weir Funeral Home, 1802 W. Turner St., Allentown. Call 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville. Contributions: Animals in Distress, P.O. Box 609, Coopersburg 18036.
