COUDERSPORT — Stanley Leo Hargenrater Jr. of Coudersport, formerly of Meadville, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, after a period of declining health.He was born in Meadville on June 13, 1942, a son of Stanley Hargenrater Sr. and Mabelle King Hargenrater. He married Jeanetta Stearns and, subsequently, Edna Green who preceded him in death on April 8, 1998.Stan attended St. Agatha Grade and High School in Meadville and served in the U.S. National Guard. He had been employed as a driver for Potter County Human Services, retiring in late 2007 due to health concerns.Survivors include two sons, Robert P. (Bob) Hargenrater and his wife, Robin, of Chelsea, Mich., and William D. (Bill) Hargenrater and his wife, Elizabeth (Liz) of Denver; two stepdaughters, Merna Hilkerrt and her husband, Carl, and Cindy Mook and her husband, Tom, a stepson, Robin Hickman, four grandchildren, Stephanie, Robert, Jessica L. and her husband, Mark Graybill, and Rachel E.; six stepgrandchildren, Jenny Artice and her husband, Rick, John Rogers and his wife, Angie, Allison Hilkerrt, Stacey Persons and her husband, T.J., Dr. Gary Ayers and his wife, Dr. Lisa, and Kathryn Fleischer and her husband, B.J.; a great-granddaughter, Lily L., several stepgreat-grandchildren; four sisters, Leonora M. (Lee) and her husband, Ronald (Ron) Petersen, Jeanette C. and her husband, Robert (Bob) Franz, Mary Ann and her husband, Michael (Mike) Lynch and Margaret A. Winters, all of Meadville; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his wife, Edna, he was preceded in death by his parents.Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Agatha Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Father Raymond Gramata as celebrant.Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Agatha's Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Stan's memory may be made to St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, Pa. 16335.
