Garrie Emory Thompson, beloved husband, father of 5, grandfather of 10, great grandfather of 14, great great grandfather of 1 and brother, passed away with his wife and loved ones by his side on June 29, 2018. Garrie was born September 18, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Garrie and Clara Thompson. Garrie was a WWII Navy Veteran.
Garrie started a business (Anoco) where he designed the star for the Hollywood Walk of Fame. After relocating to Sunnyvale, Garrie enjoyed a successful career as an engineer with Lockheed Missile Systems Division. He had a keen ear for music, and as founder of Duane Music, produced platinum records that would earn top ten placement with Billboard. Garrie's contribution to the music world is documented in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with the song "Little Girl" by the Syndicate of Sound. His hobbies and interests included hunting, metal detecting, as well as training and showing dogs. Garrie also owned race horses; which was a hobby he enjoyed very much with his sons.
Garrie especially enjoyed the time he spent with his sons as their baseball coach in the Sunnyvale National league. Garrie and Gladys (his wife of 72 years) traveled the world seeing many countries. They also traveled by motor home to many states within the US.
Per Garrie's wishes,there will be no services.

Dear Gladys, SO sorry to hear that Garrie has passed away! I am glad that I got to meet him. Sounds like he had an exciting life. With you always by his side. I am glad his suffering is ended.
