Patrick Klokow Obituary

Captain Patrick Michael Klokow, USMC Having survived battle as a decorated Marine Artillery Officer in Iraq in 2003, Patrick's 29 years of a full, meaningful life ended August 23, 2005 as he was riding his bicylcle to work at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego when he was killed by a hit and run driver.

Patrick was husband to Captain Anne Marie Kipp Klokow, USMC, son of Myrna and Richard Klokow of Sunnyvale, grandson of Merle Fanning, brother of John Klokow, Kent Klokow and Anne Elizabeth Klokow, uncle of Jessica Klokow, Deirdre Klokow, Kelly Klokow, Megan Van Dyke, and Allison Abney, nephew of Lynne and Victor Darang, and cousin of Nicole and Danielle Darang.

A memorial service was held for Captain Klokow at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego on August 29, 2005. He was interred at the United States Naval Academy alongside the Severn River in Annapolis, MD on September 8, 2005. He was honored at both services by fellow Marines, Naval Academy classmates, baseball coaches and Homestead High School classmates, Triathlon community, fellow North County Presbyterian church members, family and friends. He touched many people with his optimism, his love of the Marine Corp, his goal to complete the Hawaiian Iron Man Race, his newly expanding love of the teachings of Christ, and most of all his love for the support of his wife Anne and family.
