Mrs. Rita Connors

Rita R. (Tardif) Connors, 88, of Marlborough, MA died November 4, 2015 at Holy Trinity Nursing Home. She was the widow of Edmond "Lefty" Connors who died in 1986. Born in Lewiston, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Gaston and Imelda (Bilodeau) Tardif. She moved to Marlborough in 1946. Mrs. Connors leaves four sons, Peter, of Spencer, MA, David, of Marlborough, John and his wife, Anabelle, of Northborough, MA and Michael and his wife Laurie, of Spencer, MA, her daughter Laurie Ibbotson and son-in-law William of Plymouth, MA. She also leaves two grandsons, Craig Woods and Mark Woods and his wife Tara, four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Malory, Colin and Garett Woods, several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Rosaire and Roger Tardif and sisters Alma and Bernadette Tardif. Mrs. Connors enjoyed many years of traveling with her family and friends throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. After her retirement from Digital Equipment Corporation in Marlborough, she devoted many hours volunteering at the Marlborough Council on Aging, as a friend of the Marlborough Seniors, a friend of the Marlborough Library, Marlborough Historical Society and Opera Worcester, Inc.. She enjoyed her family and friends, doing crafts, reading, attending concerts, and Sunday breakfasts with her dear friend Arthur Marsan. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 9:00 – 11:00 am at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA, 01752 followed by a service in the funeral home at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
