Raymond Devoe Obituary

Raymond V. Devoe Jr, 60, of Marlborough died unexpectedly at his home Sunday June 30th 2019. He is survived by his wife Ruth (Gorman) Devoe. He is also survived by his son, Christopher Devoe and his wife Melissa of Hudson and their two children Ayla and Carter. Also his other son Kyle Devoe and his fianc Courtney Webby of Clinton and her daughter Aliviah. He is also survived by his sisters Janet Leahey of Marlborough, and Nancy Boone and her partner Jeff Moore of Clinton and his Brother Paul Devoe Sr. and wife Becky of Leominster. And many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Jackie Woods of Marlborough. Born in Waltham, Ma he was the son of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Dobens) Devoe of Northborough, Ma. At the time of his death he was delivery driver for Fed Ex, he has always driven big trucks and operated heavy machinery for work. Ray was a special soul, he loved everyone unconditionally, especially his three grandchildren. He loved them more than life itself. He had always been there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, whenever they needed it. A graduate of Assabet Valley Regional High School (1977) where he was in Painting and Decorating. He played many sports in high school but his greatest high school achievement was leading the football team to a Super Bowl title in 1977 as the starting Quarterback. He love to go camping, from little weekend trips with the family to big trips with the whole camping crew. He was a big Boston sports fan, especially the Bruins. He used to play Santa Claus for the Bruins players family Christmas parties at the Boston Garden and Fleet Center. He was a past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Marlboro Aerie #3565 and an active member of the Eagle Riders motorcycle club. No matter where he went he was always the shining light in the room, making people laugh, he had quite the sense of humor. He had always been involved in charities whether it was a little fundraiser, a golf tournament or a big motorcycle ride that he himself put on The Ya Pig Run. He truly just enjoyed helping people, its what he was meant to do. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at the Marlborough Fish & Game, 1 Muddy Ln., Marlborough, MA on July 11th from 4-8 for a celebration of life. He would not have wanted it any other way! The John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main Street, Marlborough, MA is in care of the arrangements.

Thoughts and Prayers to the Devoe family. He was always happy to see me and the feeling was mutual. My High School football teammate amd the Hitchin Post,s horse that pulled the wagon ( us ) along for the ride !!Chris and Kyle you always showed me the respect you had for your Dad with the respect you showed for me. Learning of Ray's passing was definitely one of those stop you in your tracks moments. Like others, the news was a tremendous shock. He gave his all to everyone and everything and will be missed by so many, especially his family. Prayers sent to all of you.
