JONES, MARIA G. Maria G. Jones, 91, wife of the late Newell “Red” Jones, of Arbutus Street, Middletown, passed away peacefully, December 2, 2015, at her son’s home with whom she resided. Mary, as she was affectionally known, was born March 26, 1924 on Ferry Street in Middletown, the ninth and youngest child of Salvatore and Sebastiana Sequenzia Gallitto. During War War II, she worked at Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, where she met the love of her life. After raising her family, she returned to Pratt & Whitney until she retired in 1988. Her passion was sewing, cooking and sharing it with everyone. She was a life long member of St. Sebastian Church and her greatest love in life was her family. Maria is survived by her children, Claudia DeFrance and her husband Augie, Cathie Giuffrida, Nancy Jones and her husband Ed and Larry Jones and his wife Gina; her beautiful grandchildren Jennifer Sequenzia, Tim Manson, Richard and Kerrianne Giuffrida, Katy and Eddie Jones, Trent and Amanda Jones, Glen and Augie DeFrance and great grandchildren, Alexandra, Jayson, Carleigh, Samantha, A.J., Zachary, Brooke, Ava, Charlotte and Olivia DeFrance, in addition to several nieces, nephews and many, many friends. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her sisters Angelina LaBella, Santina Hurlburt, Connie Paguni, Lucy Milano, brothers, Louis, Jesse, Michael, and Mario Gullitti. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10:15 AM from Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Sebastian Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Sebastian Cemetery.
