Sebastiano Airo Obituary
Sebastiano A. Airo, 77, of Middletown, beloved husband for 51 years of Rosanna (Liistro) Airo, passed away Wednesday at the Middlesex Hospital. Born on January 15, 1942 in Melilli, Sicily, son of the late Angelo and Angelina (Magnano) Airo. He had been a resident of Middletown for 65 years and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was the owner of A&D Barber Shop for over 50 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving family: three sons, Angelo A. and wife Tina Airo of Southington, Salvatore S. Airo of Middletown, Riccardo R. and wife Jacqueline Airo of Middletown. A brother and sister-in-law Joseph F. and Josephine Airo of Middletown. A brother-in-law and wife Luigi and Debra Liistro of Middletown, two sisters-in-law and husbands, Enza and Salvatore Italia of Middletown and Loradona and Daniel Marina of Italy. Six grandchildren: Rosanna, Sebastian, Avianna, Angelo, Lexie, and Anthony. Also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister Titina Lanza.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 17th at 9 a.m. from the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sebastian Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
