Patrick Cuff Obituary

Patrick Lawrence Cuff of Medway, age 27, passed away Friday, February 2nd after a hard-fought struggle with addiction. His life and character were not defined by the disease, but rather by his actions and loving spirit. Patrick was a great brother and a beloved son. Patrick grew up in Medway with his parents, Jim and Michelle (Marden) Cuff, his younger brother, Calvin, and his younger sisters, Alexa, Emily, and Anita. Patrick was also loved by his extended family members, his friends, and many caring individuals who held him in their hearts. Patrick was known for his great humor and above all, his kind heart. A truly charismatic man, he was adored by all who met him and was usually found with a smile on his face and a joke up his sleeve. He graduated from Medway High School in 2008 and Framingham State University in 2015, where he played basketball and developed a true love for the game. Patrick was a member of the Laborers Local #138 Union. Patrick will be remembered as a resilient man with a huge heart. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Kathleen Marden of Millis and Fred Marden of Ashland, and his paternal grandmother Mary Cuff of Westborough. He was predeceased by his grandfather Alfred Cuff. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, February 7th from 4 -7 p.m. at the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home 3 Barber Street, Medway. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph in Medway at 10 a.m, 151 Village St, Medway, MA. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricks memory to The Herren Project, PO Box 131, Portsmouth, RI 02871 or online at www.theherrenproject.org. ginleyfuneralhomes.com.

Only met Pat a few times, just a polite kid that deserved more. He was friends with my daughter, who also has the same issues. I am just so sorry. My heart is heavy for your family.

Your family has been in my prayers, so very sad for your loss. Addiction is such a difficult illness that knows no boundaries. So tragic to lose someone so young, so full of promise and clearly loved by so many. Praying you find some peace knowing he is free from the chains that bound him.

Dear Michelle,
I am so sorry for the loss of your precious son Patrick. I lost my son Michael (25) in September and I am reaching out to you in the event you need someone to talk to. The grief will come to you in waves, knocking you down with such force. It has really helped me having other mothers to talk to who have experienced the same loss.
Please feel free to email me.
Sincerely,
Theresa Reddish

Thank you for your honesty and grace in the face of personal tragedy. Our family also lost one of Patrick's generation this past summer to addiction, my nephew Seth Libby.
Although we don't really know one another, I watched your beautiful family grow for years at St. Joes's and was in awe. But addiction doesn't discriminate. So very sorry for your loss, wishing you peace.
