ANNA MAE FORSYTH Anna Mae Forsyth, 99, of Boonville, Missouri passed away June 25, 2025. Anna Mae was a rare natural beauty of her generation. She married young to Ike Forsyth. For decades Anna was a farm wife helping Ike and keeping up their pre-Civil War farmhouse in Madison, plus sewing and upholstery work making old furniture new again; baking pies with lard crust from the slaughtered pigs; keeping up the pens and chicken coop, while the men raised cattle and soybeans in the fields. Anna worked hard, but she turned out elegant on many occasions. She fancied couture handbags and elegant clothing and she shopped with a sharp eye to style, price, and quality, and frequently scored by scouring rummage and garage sales. She was a sweet-tempered woman but one who spoke her mind, and kindly. Anna was preceded in death by her husband and 3 children; her son Rex Forsyth, a florist who passed away in 2014 at age 60; daughters Gloria Menefee a schoolteacher, who passed away 20 years ago, and Cathy Keller, who passed away earlier this month at age 69, her brother Jack Kirtley and sisters Mary Ruth Wood, and Kay Kirtley. She is survived by her son Danny Forsyth who is here grieving today with his son Jeremy Forsyth; her 5 other grandchildren Greg Menefee, Eric Keller, Jennifer Maynard, Allison Keller, and Ryan Keller, and her brother Bill Kirtley. She was a matriarch of the family, loved by her children and grandchildren who celebrate her long life. We shall miss Anna, a gentlewoman and role model to us all. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Hwy 24 Madison, Missouri 65263 In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to an Alzheimer's charity of donor's choice.
