Patrick Denis Hanrahan, 53 of Modesto, passed away on his own terms, Tuesday 8/27/2013. He was employed at COIT Services 33 years, where he leaves a legacy of hard work, dedication and love for each member of the COIT family. His generosity, selflessness and compassion can be best honored by doing for others. Among his many loves are his animals, Kiska, Allie, and Pumpkin, the beach, especially Moss Landing and Santa Cruz, along with air shows, remote control helicopters and care for his home especially at Christmas. Remaining to honor his memory Patrick leaves his loving wife of 26 years, Paula, their son and the joy of his life Logan, and step-daughter Courtney. His brother Raymond, (Belen), sisters, Michaeleen (Tom), Maria (Rob), The Tim Olvera family and his Aunt, Lupe Garcia. Along with Paula's immediate and extended family. Patrick was preceded in death, by his parents Laura and Harry Hanrahan. He will be greatly missed, is very much loved and respected.
An informal gathering at his home will occur, Saturday, 8/31/13, 1-5pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your favorite charity or Community Hospice.

Please do not consider my intrusion in you're grieving s a type of myrrh . I cme upon this men's obituary while searching for my missing friend Pat Hanrahan from Michigan. Something comlpelled me to read his obituary. But why continue? Only to say that reading the summary of his life and the comments of some of the people who he affected with his presence, I know he was a fine person who enjoyed his existence on this planet. For you who go on in life, miss him.but put all of his goodness to work in your lives. That would make him verty happy.

Patrick...
In search for an old time friend Logan, I sadly came across this. Patrick and paula used to gladly take me with their family fishing, camping, deep sea fishing, to the raceway on any occasion and treated me as a welcomed part of the family. I'll forever treasure learning things from Patrick my father wasn't able to teach me. Thank you for the great BBQ and fun memories Pat you will be missed and I'll treasure the memories. I never knew Patrick personally, but knew Paula and Courtney. It's wonderful to know your family bond remained so strong over the years - not very common these days. Dear Paula & Family,
I met Patrick about 14 years ago when I started working at Coit. I no longer work for the company but have often thought of Patrick and how he always managed to make me smile. Whenever, I was having a tough day, he would come by and say something humorous or send me a silly email to make me smile. He was a great listener with a kind heart. I was fortunate to know him.

I met Pat about 10 years ago, my Dad had just died and we needed to get thing ready to sell his home. Pat was there every step of the way, what a hard worker. I didn't have to ask Pat, he just did it. My favorite memories was when Paula, Pat, my husband Cal and I would get together at the Waterloo Resturant. Great fun with special people. So happy we were able to get together a few months ago, Pat was joking and laughing. We send our love to you Paula. Pam and Cal

Paula thank you so much for answering Patrick's phone. Monday afternoon. That is one great guy there. Helped out a sales guy that he had never met in person. I always enjoyed our conversations about the business and also family matters. Our calls were spread out over time(2002 and on) but I always knew I could call my Buddy in Modesto and see what was going on. Thanks and God Bless you guys.

I will greatly miss Patrick--not just as a co-worker, but as friend...many prayers for his family...he was one of the hardest workers and took charge of every situation. He was our "go to" man. I respect him a lot. Thanks for treating us to See's Candy, Patrick...I'll never look at a candy box the same...

I haven't seen Patrick since I left Modesto about 14 years ago but my sons had many a meal at the Hanrahan home. Sweet Patrick always made me feel special in the way he always greeted me when I saw him. I am sadden by his death. I know he will be missed by family and friends. May the God of all comfort send forth to all who are grieving.

My dad Patrick came into my life when I was six years old and married my mother Paula and took care of me and my mom for years to come. He was an amazing man and the father I never had. Many memories I hold dear to me and always will. Many trips to the lake, his amazing way of barbacueing in the back yard. 4th of julys, the way he smoked a ciggerate, Budweiser beer. He made me into a stronger, better, person and I hope he knew how much I loved him because he was the best dad I ever had and I will miss him greatly. I do believe we will all meet again on the otherside and til than dad just know how much I love you and how much IM missing you now.
