Lem Pope Holman, age 92, died Friday, July 4, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, MS. He was born April 17, 1933 to the Late Lennie Pope and R. B. Holman in Hamilton, MS. He was a 1951 graduate of Hamilton High School. He married the former Doris Henderson on December 22, 1954 and was married for seventy years. Mr. Holman was a self-employed farmer and farmed for many years. He attended Hamilton Friendship Church. He served on the Board for Monroe County Power, and Farm Bureau Insurance Company and was a founding member of the Hamilton Fire Department. He served in the Army National Guard and as an Airman in the U. S. Navy. During his time of service he received numerous medals and also served in the Koren War.

In addition to his wife, Doris Holman, Lem is survived by two sons, Terry Holman (Lady), Steve Holman (Cindy) all of Hamilton, one sister, Irene Fisher of Lancaster, OH, grandchildren Kristopher Holman (Ashley), Tyler Holman, Collin Holman, all of Hamilton, Mandy Taylor (Brian) of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Kayla Rigdon, (Ricky) of Pelzer, SC, great grandchildren, Rush Holman, Hayes Holman, Brody Taylor, Levi Rigdon,and Mila Rigdon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Riley Holman, Richard Holman, and one sister, Francis Andrecheck.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m, Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Hamilton Friendship Church with Bro. Roger McGrew and Rev. Tom Sims officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Center Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30.m. until service time at the church.

Pallbearers are Tyler Holman, Collin Holman, Kristopher Holman, Donnie Cooper, Allen Boyd, Chris Harmon.

Memorials may be made to Hamilton Friendship Church, Cross of Christ, or your favorite charity.
