Frank (Ledge) Boudrie, age 80, of Monroe, Michigan died at his home on June 1, 2016 of complications of advanced COPD.
Friends may call from 12 to 8 pm on Sunday June 5, 2016 at Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe, where funeral services will be held on Monday June 6, 2016 at 12:30 pm. Pastor Joel Walther, of Zion United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Newport, Michigan.
Born May 20, 1936 in Monroe, Michigan, Frank was the son of James E. and Marian I. (Roe) Boudrie. Frank's mother died at age forty-five when he was an eight year old child. He spoke of her often and had an "In Memory of Mother" tattoo on his left forearm.
Frank married Leslie (Lollie) Cooley on October 20, 1956 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Monroe, Michigan. He then married Regina Gerber on August 17, 1974 in Temperance, Michigan. Leslie preceded him in death on May 1, 2009; Regina preceded him in death on December 28, 1999.
Frank was employed by Ford Motor Company, Monroe, for forty-three years before retiring in 1999. He was also a self-employed farmer for his entire life.
He attended St. Mary's Parish School, Catholic Central, and was a graduate of Monroe High School, class of 54. He obtained his private pilot's license in 1977 and spent many years flying family and friends across the great state of Michigan. Frank was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Dundee Sportsman Club where he enjoyed being part of the Travel Trapshooting League, Maybee Farmers Co-op, bowled on two leagues, and attended auctions with his brother, Tom. He also belonged to several card clubs and was especially happy when spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Lollie Boudrie of Bernice, Oklahoma, Laura Larkins and husband David, Ledyard Boudrie and his wife Dawn, Lisa Moore and her husband Del, and Lonnie Boudrie and his partner Maidelee Sweeney, all of Monroe, Michigan, and step-daughter Tammy White of Maybee, Michigan; one brother, Thomas (Mary) Boudrie of Monroe and one sister Donna (Robert) Preston of Monroe. Other survivors include his grandchildren Alia (Wesley) Schumacher, Tia White, Tony White, Chance (McKenzie) Larkins, Lisa Anne Boudrie, Christina Boudrie, Tabitha White, Rebekah Hoffman, Steven Boudrie, Rayna (Jonathan) Gill, and Faith Moore; thirteen great-grandchildren; along time friend and companion Joyce Schultz and several cherished nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James Boudrie, Robert Boudrie and Gerald Haynes, and one sister Patricia Murphy.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Monroe or the
charity of the donor's choice.
